Me gustan los juegos de estrategia, sobre todo los juegos de mesa.

I like strategic games.  Especially strategic board games.

¿Cuándo conociste Carcassonne? ¿Cómo ocurrió? When did you know this game? How did it happen?

Fue hace unos pocos años. Lo descubrí mirando juegos para jugar con mi familia.

Few years ago. I was just looking the game to play with my family.

¿Qué color es el que usas normalmente en Carcassonne? What color do you usually get to play Carcassonne?

El azul. Realmente no es importante, no tengo ningún problema si otro jugador coge este color, pero si puedo elegir, uso el azul en cualquier juego.

Blue. Not that is is really important for me, I have no problem if someone else takes it, but I just like it if I have a choice, in any game J

Granjeros, caballeros, monjes o ladrones, ¿cuál prefieres? Farmers, soldiers, monks and thieves, which do you prefer?

Si tengo que elegir uno, supongo que los caballeros. No me gustan los ladrones porque dan pocos puntos, en mi humilde opinión, y a los monjes les encuentro fáciles de atrapar. Los granjeros son necesarios al final de la partida en muchas ocasiones, pero los caballeros dan la mayor parte de los puntos. Al menos, yo lo veo así.

Hmm.. Soldiers I think if I have to choose one. I do not like thieves, they just do not give much points IMHO. I find monks easy to trap. In most games farmers are necessity in the end of the game. But Soldiers give the most of the points. At least I see it this way.

¿Hay torneos de Carcassonne en tu ciudad? ¿Sueles ir? Are there Carcassonne tournaments in your city? Do you usually go?

Probablemente habrá, pero no lo sé. Es interesante pero realmente no creo que tuviera tiempo para ir a uno.

Well, they probably are, but I do not know. Interesting idea. But in practice I do not think I would have time for that.

Y para terminar, cuéntanos alguna historia que te haya pasado jugando a Carcassonne. Una anécdota. Tell us a story playing Carcassonne. One anecdote with this game.

No estoy segura de si es una anécdota o no, pero encuentro interesante el caso de mi falta de entendimiento del juego cuando lo descubrí. Me pregunto si habrá más gente que piense que Carcassonne es un juego de azar, que es lo que yo pensaba cuando empecé a jugar con mi familia y terminamos eligiendo otros juegos antes que éste. Pero hace unos dos meses, probé a jugar on-line, en BrettspielWelt y entonces encontré a Carcassonne mucho más profundo y divertido. Ahora veo que el azar es importante pero no determinante.

Not sure it is a story or anegdote. But I find it interesting case of my understanding the game. I wonder if there are more people thinking Carcassonne is kind of very random game. At least that was my impression for quite a long time, when I played just from time to time with my family. And because we didn’t really understand this game (well at least I did not), it just loose competition to other games. But not very long time ago, (about 2 months ago I think) I tried to play it on-line at BrettspielWelt. And I found it quite a new game for me. I found it much deeper and much more fun. Playing mostly 2v2 I find it quick strategic game, where random factor have some place, but not big at all.
